EMPOWERMENT CENTER MINISTRY
The Action Chapel Virginia Empowerment Center (EC) carries a divine mandate to meet and satisfy the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the community through a myriad of services. Through collaboration and coordination with corporate and civic entities, the services are administered through the departments of the EC, which entail:
Comfort & Crisis
Serve the unmet needs of people experiencing personal crisis and respond with services that promote emotional health and well being.
Bread of Life
After-service bread and pastries distribution to the congregation and community every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday after the service.
Health & Wellness
Motivate and educate the congregation and community on good health and wellness practices throughout the year. Organize an annual summer Health Fair in Alexandria, VA.
Job Center
Provide information to job-seekers and connect them with needed resources to expand their networks in order to obtain ideal jobs.
Donation Center
Coordinate food baskets and donations for families in need during Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as Back-To-School supplies.
Legal Assistance
Provide the congregation with legal resources.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
The purpose of the Action Chapel Virginia Children’s Ministry is to minister to the needs of children between the ages 3 and 12 years old “to walk into an experience with Jesus”. Children connect with the Word and the Spirit through praise and worship, prayer, testimony, dance, drama, puppet ministry, story time, object lessons, videos, and other creative teaching methods. Children are taught reverence for God, His House, and His Word.
EVANGELISM MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is to carry out God’s required mandate of taking the gospel to the streets, hospitals, prisons, and nursing homes.
SACRED ARTS MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is to honor God through praise and worship and to encourage the body of Christ through the following:

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY
This ministry is responsible for serving special guests of Action Chapel Virginia during special events and conferences, such as Family and Friends Day, and International Day.
FACILITIES / HOUSEKEEPING MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is to ensure that the facilities of the Church are maintained and are set up properly for regular service use as well as for specific events and conferences.

MEN’S MINISTRY
This areas of ministry is for males, ages nineteen and above. During this time of fellowship, men are taught how to fulfill the roles God has designed for them.
NEW LIFE MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is to encourage, educate, and equip expectant parents during the duration of pregnancy, baby dedication process, and infancy.
MOTHERS OF ACTION CHAPEL VIRGINIA (MOAC) MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is to provide a forum where mothers of children and teenagers ages 3 – 19 years, can encourage, share information and fellowship with each other.
WELCOME TEAM / USHERS / CATCHERS MINISTRY
This ministry fills the hearts of the partners and visitors alike by making them feel welcome and loved as they enter into the worship services. They assist the Pastoral Staff at the altar as the Spirit of God moves, and help to keep order in and around the church at all times during all services.
SERVICE COORDINATION MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is to work in unison to provide full service coordination while effectively directing services and conferences in a manner that glorifies God and promotes structure within the House of the Lord.
SINGLES’ MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is to provide and foster individual wholeness through a relationship with God. The Singles Ministry serves young adults, divorcees, widows and other single adults. Our desire is for our single adults to grow into the image of Christ and prepare for their God-given destinies.
WOMEN’S MINSTRY
This area of ministry is for females, ages nineteen and above. During this time of fellowship, women are taught how to fulfill the roles that God has designed for them.
YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
The purpose of this department is to minister to youth, starting from age 13 years, and young adults.
VIDEOGRAPHERS and VIDEO EDITORS
Whether by camcorder or a smartphone, we're looking for video savvy storytellers who can record and edit footage that accurately tells ACV's ministry stories in fun, engaging ways. Candidates should be able to seamlessly capture and assemble recorded footage into a finished product that matches the director's vision for sharing across desktop social media and eventually mobile platforms. Comfort levels with blending sight and sound to share a complete story is essential. S/he also will be responsible for: Editing footage in a way that's flawless to the audience. Trimming footage segments and putting together the sequence of the film. Inputting music, dialogues, graphics and effects. Creating rough and final cuts. Consulting with ministry department directors from production to post-production process; and continuously discovering and implementing new editing technologies and industry's best practices to maximize efficiency. Technical skills might include solid experience with digital digital/editing software packages, such as Avid Media Composer, Premiere and Final Cut Pro. S/he should have a degree or extensive experience in film, cinematography or related field. SOCIAL MEDIA EDITORS
We're looking for editors who can help us attract and interact with targeted virtual communities and network users. The goal is to gradually achieve superior customer engagement and intimacy, build up website traffic -- and ultimately website revenue -- by strategically exploiting all aspects of the social media marketing roadmap. ACV social media editors will build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification. They also will generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages people to take action. S/he will set up and optimize ACV's website pages and other media platforms to increase visibility of ACV's social content. In addition the social media editor will moderate any user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community. Success in this role will involve continuous improvement by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and then acting on the information. S/he also will collaborate with all ministry departments to manage reputation; identify key players and coordinate actions. Ideal volunteers will have proven working experience in social media or related field as well as excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo, video, text), presentation and communication skills. S/he also should be able to share examples of solid social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge. Adequate knowledge of search engine optimization as well as web design and knowledge of online marketing are a huge plus! GRAPHIC SPECIALIST
Graphics artists are needed to work on graphic visuals for our growing multi-media ministry. Candidates should have a comfort level with text, audio, still images, animation, video or interactivity content forms. Technical expertise might include experience using Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite. Best candidates will be able to perform artistic and technical work to develop professional high-quality designs for products and website content, social media engagement and other publishing platforms. S/he should be able to adapt graphics to fit needs of clients and target audience while using state of art production tools to design, edit and produce graphic materials. This is a volunteer opportunity and ideal for qualified ACV members who want to get plugged into ministry, students in search of internship opportunities or for those making career transitions and looking for experience.
REPORTERS for ONLINE and PRINT PLATFORMS
Our work is expanding, and we're looking for individuals who can help produce compelling content for all ministry digital and print platforms. ACV reporters will work under the direction of online/print editors to collect, verify and analyze thoroughly newsworthy information of interest to our communities (ACV community, Christian community, as well as local, regional and national news and information of interest). ACV media ministry reporters will write and deliver stories with the reader's perspective in mind. S/he will receive assignments or investigate news leads/tips, and contact, interview and resource sources for stories. ACV reporters will also stay up-to-date on the latest current events in his/her topical area. Requirements should include proven work experience, published articles, an ability to gather write and edit news, broad knowledge of latest headlines and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital editing and Web search databases. S/he should also deliver on excellent communication and active listening skills. A degree in journalism, communication or related field is plus. ONLINE/PRINT EDITORS
Do you have a good sense of what makes an interesting angle to a story? Can you juggle all the moving parts of publications? If so, you may be interested in volunteering as an editor for ACV's growing media ministry. We are currently seeking individuals who can plan, coordinate, review and edit story content across multiple media platforms. The successful candidates will be able to decide which ideas should be pursued and which should get dropped in order to meet quality and accuracy standards. The goal is to provide exceptional, informative and engaging content. Responsibilities include coordinating online or print publishing and cycle and manage ministry content areas. S/he will set publication standards and establish goals and expectations. The editor should be able to successfully suggest stories and oversee story packaging (artwork, video, social media component, etc.) as well as check content for accuracy. The online or print editor reviews content before its published as well as edit to improve stories. The editor is also responsible for recruiting and managing ACV's writers and reporters assigned for work on website or print content. Qualified volunteers with strong editing backgrounds will have an opportunity to gain valuable ministry and market place experience across desktop, print, book publishing, audio, social media and marketing/communications teams. Best candidates for editing roles should have some previous professional experience, as well as familiarity with search engine optimization and social media best practices. Excellent written and oral skills as well as a sharp eye for detail along with critical thinking. Degree in journalism or related field a plus. SOUND TECHNICIANS
Action Chapel Virginia's Media ministry is looking for skilled sound technicians to assist with services and special events, working in concert with other Media team volunteers to produce the best possible atmosphere of worship through the art of sound. Successful candidates should have some experience with mixing audio successfully in a live environment or willingness to be trained and work alongside a mentor. Strong communication skills, ability to think quickly and to troubleshoot under high-stress situations a plus. Sound technicians, like most volunteers, are expected to arrive 1-2 hours ahead of service times to collaborate with the team agenda. Responsibilities include setting up the stage for musicians; performing proper line checks; getting settings, monitor mixes and proper volume settings; and checking with worship leader or pastors for scheduling updates/changes. During services, the sound technician is responsible for adjusting sound levels during services as needed and following the worship leader/musician's directions. Post-service duties might involve talking with church leaders/worship teams to learn of any challenges for future programming, as well as taking note of any broken or faulty equipment. Aside from the technical expertise needed, candidates should have a heart of worship, be able to work in team settings and to take directions.
